Boris Zafirov graduates NATFA “Krastyo Sarafov” in 2012 with the specialty “Theatrical knowledge and management” in the class of professor Kalina Stefanova. During his study, he works as a freelance journalist and media assistant. After his graduation he continues writing for Bulgarian and international editions for theater, reporting on international festivals and independent stage projects. He is a part of the starting team at “online” edition for theater- “Regions of conflict” project by the oldest theatrical organization in Europe – “Union theatres of Europe” founded by Giorgio Strehler. In 2013 he takes an important for his career interview with the German director Georg Genoux, who by that time is working with “Replica” theater. Genoux then invites him to be a part of a workshop, in which Zafirov’s first project as a practicing director was born. The monospectacle “To buy history” was played for two years on the alternative stages of the city of Sofia. Followed by the play “Essenceless” which introduces the stories of four people with psychological disorders. At the moment Boris Zafirov is a chairman of NGO “Theater of responsibility” with which he and his team organize annual stage projects with partnerships with government theaters and organizations working in the course of social change.
